Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan is a famous American singer-songwriter. Also, she's known as her most well-known nickname, Queen of Funk. Through her long career of more than 50 years the singer was awarded 10 Grammys. Billboard has ranked her as the 65th-most accomplished dancer ever. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was first introduced to jazz by her mother from a young age. The first step in her professional career was being in different bands. Then, she joined a group called Rufus. She released her debut album with the band at the twenty-year mark. The group was awarded their first Grammy recognition a year after. The singer released her debut self-titled album only a few years later than her debut solo album. The following years, she has released a few other albums, including "Echoes from an Era", "The Woman I Am" and a song called 'Funk This". Also, she is known for her charity work. Chaka Khan Foundation was established to help children from poor families and people with autism. Khan is also a frequent actress. She played her character Sister Carrie in the role of lead in the musical "Mama, I'm Wanting to Sing'.
